Thought's on Undertaker/HHH, Rock/Cena/Miz on Raw (03/28)

I really enjoyed the Undertaker/Triple H face-off. When the Undertaker's Bell sound interrupted H's in-ring entrance, I knew IT was on!
They both made some great points about each other. What I love about Pro wrestling (and this is the Mark in me!) is when they incorporate a Shoot into a Work.

Triple H said the he and Shawn Michaels would let one another know when the other was "through" and that HHH sees that time is now for the Undertaker.
It is well known that 'Taker is beat up. His knee and shoulder problems have been documented. He takes off months at a time each year to heal up.

Which, as I have questioned before, leads me to wonder: is his time up? Will the streak end at Wrestlemania 27?

I hate to admit it, but I did not even think about the possibility of Michaels appearing on Raw and giving his thoughts about the match.

When HHH asked Shawn to tell 'Taker why he will end The streak on Sunday, and Shawn just walked out of the ring, well, it definitely had me wondering what the outcome will be.

Marks know that Triple H is Vince McMahon's son-in-law and that he also has considerable "pull" in the company.

Will he allow himself to lose in what will be the match that ends Wrestlemania? Will he do what's good for the company instead of looking out for himself?

I think the answer is yes to both of those questions. The streak is huge in the WWE, and I think they want 'Taker to retire 20-0.

The Rock/Cena/Miz showdown did not disappoint. While I am a fan of Cena, I thought some of his remarks in defending himself were a bit corny.
The Rock was hyped up. You could tell even before he made his way into the ring. This story-line is simply masterful, and I truly hate to see it end.

I could not predict that it would get physical, even though Rock did indeed promise that.

Seeing the Rock "Layeth the smacketh down!" was a joy to see. It has been far too long.

I was afraid that the Miz, in Miz fashion, would run away before getting his due. I was glad to see that was not the case. I couldn't have been happier seeing him on the receiving end of the People's Elbow!

What happened after that, I truly did not expect. When Cena had the Rock in position to deliver the Attitude Adjustment, I expected Rock to make his way out of it.
I and many of the fans who witnessed it, I'm sure, were shocked to see Cena deliver the AA to the Rock.

But what does this mean? By having the "nerve" to attack the Rock; will this lead to a heel turn for Cean? I doubt it, but the first time we see Cena, the boos will be deafening.

And what will the Rock do in retaliation? Will he indeed interfere in the WWE tile match between the Miz and Cena?

It would be easy to speculate that he will interfere and cost Cena the chance to win the title.
This could be the major swerve that I had previously mentioned could happen.

I mean, prior to Monday, every fan "knew" that Cena would win back the title at 'Mania. Miz had his run, but now it's Cena's turn.

And by causing Cena to lose, this would continue the Rock/Cena rivalry.

And maybe, just maybe, we will see the Rock VS John Cena some day!

I don't know what the history is of having two world champions crowned at 'Mania. It just doesn't seem likely.

But I'll stick with my prediction that Cena will win the WWE title and Del Rio will become the new World Heavyweight champion.

But that's the beauty of Wrestlemania: you know a swerve is coming, you're just not sure which one!

Predictions for Wrestlemania 27

Wrestlemania is 18 days away, and even though the card is not very strong, I am very excited to see it.

When I say it's not very strong, don't get me wrong, there is potential for some great matches, but there is no HBK/Undertaker type dream match.

The reason I'm looking forward to it, two words: The Rock.

They (WWE Creative, whoever) knew that they would not have a strong card, so they had to to get someone to create some buzz, someone huge.

There is no better than the Rock.

While not the best technical wrestler, on the mic, there is no better and that is why they brought him back.

Watching him on Raw the past few weeks, I feel like a kid at christmas. Hell, at times I'm downright giddy.

Ok, enough of my man-crush. Let's get to my predictions.

Undertaker vs Triple H

I don't see how this can possibly match the last two Undertaker/HBK matches, but
it definitely has potential to be a great match.

I remember when Batista started his feud with Undertaker, I didn't think that would be a very entertaining match, but I was dead wrong.
I believe he can just about wrestle anyone, and take their game to a new level.
Those were, IMO, some great matches.

So too this match with Triple H. HHH has been away for some time, but I think the intensity will be high.

Rumors are that Undertaker will walk away from wrestling 20-0 this time next year.
But, I have read that he is really beat up.

That being said I still see Undertaker winning this match.

The Miz vs John Cena for the WWE title

Personally, I don't like the Miz, but he is a great heel. I mean, people seem to really hate him.

It would seem obvious that Cena would win this match, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a swerve, and Miz retained his title.

But I predict Cena will win.

I know Cena has as many detractors as he does fans, if not more, but I have always liked him.
Even when he was heel, which was short lived.

Edge vs Alberto Del Rio for the World Title

First off, I am a huge Del Rio fan. I think this guy will be huge. Not that that is stepping out on a limb, as he was previous known as Dos Caras Jr, he was a very successful wrestler in Mexico and Japan.

I think this match will end up being a triple threat match with Christian being the third opponent.

My thinking is why else would they continually have Christian "save" Edge over the last month in his dealings with Del Rio?

I think there will be a "mistake" in the match involving Edge and Christian with Del Rio taking advantage of it and becoming the new World Heavyweight Champion.

This then will start a feud with Edge and Christian.

Michael Cole vs Jerry Lawler with special guest referee Stone Cold Steve Austin

Jerry wins this match. Stone Cold stuns Jack Swagger (who will be in Cole's corner) and I'm sure he'll stun Cole also.

Randy Orton vs CM Punk

For me this will be one of my most anticipated matches (behind Edge/Del Rio/Christian(?)

CM Punk is a great asset to the WWE. He is probably THE best heel, but also can be a great babyface.

I want CM Punk to win, but see Orton winning this match.

I don't care about the mixed tag match involving Snooki(!), but I do look forward to seeing Trish Stratus back in the ring.
Trish and company win this match.

Rey Mysterio vs Cody Rhodes

As far as technical wrestling goes, this could be a great match, I'm just not feeling it.
I have to admit, I haven't really been following this story-line, so maybe it's just me.

Rey wins.

I'm not sure what role the Rock will have in the Cena/Miz match.

I do not think he will interfere in anyway, but he has to have an interaction with one or both of them.

If Cena does win, I think the Rock might have an altercation with the Miz.

I don't see him overshadowing Cena's win by having words with Cena.

Perhaps Cena wins, celebrates in the ring, than leaves. Leaving Miz in the ring with the Rock.

People's Elbow later to Miz, crowd goes wild, 'Mania ends.

Jeff Hardy incident at Victory Road

As many now know, Jeff Hardy was in no condition to wrestle at TNA's Victory Road PPV Sunday night.
While nothing is official (TNA of course won't come out and say this) that was the reason for the short title match.

My question is why did TNA allow this? They obviously knew what his condition was before the match began.

Acquiring Jeff Hardy after he left WWE was a major coup for TNA. But this (according to reports) was not the first time Hardy was in poor condition.

Is TNA so starved for major talent that they will turn a blind eye to a dangerous precedent such as this?

TNA should be above this. They have the talent on their roster, they just have to believe in it and let their story-lines play out.

They shouldn't let Jeff Hardy ruin the time and effort they have put forth into their organization.
